The Cavagrande Nature Reserve is located in south-eastern Sicily and exactly in the geographical area of the Hybleian Mountains. The site in question is considered one of the most spectacular places on the island.
- What does the service include?
There is a transfer from Noto or a place to be agreed upon - with a comfortable 9-seater minibus authorised to transport passengers - to the Cavagrande Nature Reserve.
There are three different entrances to the reserve, the main and most famous one, the 'Scala', is currently officially closed, awaiting restoration. Then the 'Cugno Mezzano' path is partially closed and waiting to be restored. And finally, the Prisa-Carrubbella trail, which is currently the only one that is fully accessible and safe.
Your environmental hiking guide will propose the best solution for you, based on the season and the route established within the reserve. Precisely that of Prisa-Carrubbella encapsulates all the best relevant characteristics of the protected area in question.
In fact, from the typical Hyblean plateau with astonishing views of Mount Etna and the canyon, one passes down an ancient staircase into the valley and skirts the Cassibile river. You pass through the dense holm-oak forest, and come across small lakes or 'urvi', where in spring and summer it is possible to stop and have a cosy swim.
At the end of the visit to the reserve, it will be possible to return to the agreed location in a comfortable minibus.
"Cavagrande Nature Reserve will offer you spectacular views and a magnificent nature".
